The 2011 performance season brings special Happy Anniversary wishes to Buena Vista Community Theatre! 20 years ago, a small group of community theater enthusiasts approached the Alta Community School System with a proposalto re-invigorate the area's community theater, with performances to take place in&;the school system's downtown Alta;theater building. Approval was given, and 20 years later, Buena Vista Community Theatre is still going strong, producing quality summer musicals with some of the best & brightest talent in the state of Iowa. The theater group is self-sustaining, and has contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the Alta Community Schools over these 20 years for Roxy Theater building improvements, and to further the performing arts in and around the Buena Vista County area.

Buena Vista Community Theatre was started in it's present form and location in 1991, when the Alta Community School District offered us the use of their historic theatre building, The Roxy. Since that time, we've performed summer, fall, and winter productions. At the present time, heavy use of the Roxy by the Alta Schools allows for only one BVCT production a year.
