Buena Vista Community Theatre

Joseph and the Technicolor DreamcoatBuena Vista Community Theatre was started in it's present form and location in 1991, when the Alta Community School District offered us the use of their historic theatre building, The Roxy. Since that time, we've performed summer, fall, and winter productions. At the present time, heavy use of the Roxy by the Alta Schools allows for only one BVCT production a year.

In the Beginning
The directing board of Buena Vista Community Theatre is pleased to announce our 2010 summer musical will be "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", by special arrangement with Music Theater International.  This upbeat and feisty musical will be directed by David Steward (stage director), with assistance from Terry Parson.  The music director will be David Kamaru Anderson, and the rehearsal accompanist is Doris Gregg.  The show will run for 5 performances, with performance dates scheduled for July 7th-10th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., and one matinee on Sunday July 11th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets will still be only $10 each; the box office will open on Monday, June 21st, 2010 and stay open each evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. through July 10th (closed July 4th).   Calls will be taken by voice mail anytime after June 21st; simply call 712-200-1314 and leave a message.   MTI says this about "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"  -

So long, Dolly! Move over, Mame! Make way for the biggest of Broadway’s “big ladies.” “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” The Titanic may have sunk, but Molly Brown survived.

This spirited tale of a legendary, real-life American original follows the exploits of Molly Brown, whose feisty determination to rise above her impoverished beginnings leads her from the backwoods of Hannibal, Missouri, to the palaces of Europe. Along the way, she marries a lucky prospector, enters the highest echelons of Monte Carlo society, survives the sinking of the Titanic and, most importantly, earns the approval she so desperately seeks of those “Beautiful People of Denver.”
